Arts Governor's Schools
Fine Arts Governor's Schools are summer residential programs for rising juniors and seniors talented in visual and performing arts. There are five fine art programs offered-Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music.
Based on size, each school division is allocated a specific number of slots for each of the five areas. Albemarle County may nominate up to 20 candidates (four in each of the five areas) for state adjudication; following adjudication, the division may nominate up to 15 candidates (three in each area) for state consideration. Selection is solely competitive; there are no guaranteed placements.
